2 Non-DS mains that would suit beginners as training sails and/or lowrider duties.

I got them with my boat and subsequently chopped the mast down to run a DS so they won't fit properly anymore.

1 - KA MSL16.5, light blue colour. Condition 4/10 - club racing. Has a couple of small repairs, bottom panel is moderately shagged. With standard cams and bag (zip also shagged). $100? Make an offer.

2 - Lennon A3m - Ex-Luka sail (see pic below). Decent condition (6.5/10) - still good for club racing and no repairs.  It has had foot cut down for some reason (in preparation to be made into a DS main?). Would do well as a a near-indestructible heavy airs small main for flyweights. Carbon battens, NO CAMS. Bag. $200.

    Located Perth.

(the Lennon still has Luka's sail numbers and signage per below pic)

Home built beats production models in Moth Nationals - Mysailing

  • 24 Feb 2023 10:41 | Mike Salter

Recently raced in the 2023 Nationals and placed in the top 10, this moth is a professional build by Tarbutt Bros in WA and didn't touch the water for 30 years before being discovered and rigged to race with carbon rig and pocket luff sail, new wings and modern fittings. A true barn find that has a special history and been valued by those who have had the fortune to look after it. I love this boat but happy to pass this onto someone who needs a scow and wants to come race with us or others in the class. A special opportunity to own a piece of Moth history and a boat that is a delight to sail.  timbers are sound and the deck has some work done to it to keep it sailing and watertight. I added new wings and fittings and crafted a control plate and cascade vang which you can always tweek to your liking. carbon boom and 2 x piece carbon mast, KA MSL sail in good condition, timber centerboard and rudder, comes with a cradle. hit me up if you want to talk about it but be prepared for long chat given how much i love the thing:)

5K or near offer before i change my mind and keep it!

Want to buy a foiling Moth that can foil tack? Well, don't buy this one! After 3 years, and applying every known upgrade, including Mach 2.6 aero wings and trampolines, Damic Swift horizontals, longer stiffer centreboard and rudder, improved custom bowsprit, improved ride height adjuster, custom bullet proof wand and length adjuster, and push rod linkages, latest North deck sweeper, DS9, centreboard case moved forward, custom wing bar reinforcement, custom rudder frame fairing, and hull respray, this boat will STILL not foil tack!

But perhaps a younger more agile owner can prove me wrong. Only $17k ONO. 2 sails, 2 masts. photos on facebook

A complete mast and sail combination.

CTech - 03B Ultra High Modulus Carbon mast with external Fastacraft Gooseneck. (you will have to try really hard to break this).

Avalon Sails - Light wind pocket luff sail - almost like new and shaped by experience.

Both the mast and sail have covers.

The sail was bespoke cut to suit the mast and sets perfectly. The package was designed as a lightwind package to get you flying when no other rig can. It was designed for a foiling boat, but due to the cut and shape, it would transition well to a scow or low riding skiff.
