All,

Is anyone off sailing for the Long Weekend? When is the Sunshine regatta? Think Jervis Bay regatta is on the long weekend if people want to head that way?

I am up for heading somewhere for a sail, hopefully somewhere with other Moths

Pete

Which long weekend? Here in Queensland, there is no long weekend in October.

Links to details on the Sunshine Single-hander Regatta were posted in Events & Other Regattas some months ago (see thread titled "2009 Single handers regatta Sunshine").

I had planned to go, but don't have a boat (at the moment...). :(

I might even dust off poor old Sector for that one. probably only be able to fit in one or maybe two of the days though.

Sunshine ZHIK SH Regatta
The moths white washed the results last year so this time our yardstick will be no where near as favourable. But maybe the top guys are going even faster? Should be interesting, 3 days, different courses too, and we would be very lucky to get as favourable conditions as last time.
Regardless its a great place to sail.
Should be a good season openner for IMCA NSW, bring back memories of Oct Weekend with the foiler pirate at Munmorah. Doyalson RSL is a bit further away though.
See you there.

i'll redouble my efforts to be ready in time , 115 yardstick sound right ? ( YV site)

that will put us smack bang amongst the Spirals and OKs, waterline is not everything!

I may be up for one of the days. Although I am having serious control issues at the moment so am travelling pretty slow - may be better off sailing in Sydney with a tool set on board making changes. But the urge of sailing at Sunshine will probably win over.

Oh, and the Doylo will probably have to wait for another time too.

Les

PS - BTW Scowbilly. Sector may be old but a scow she isn't

I'll probably head down, although the forecast looks a bit dubious.

Oh wait, I should say up, I’m south of the equator again.

Sunshine ZHIK singlehander regatta was great again. Despite rain and a very dubious weather forecast there were 49 boats including 11 moths. 7 Prowlers, 2 BR and 2 homebuilds.
Dave Lister won again with Andrew Stevenson second but this time moths were 1, 2 not 1 to 8 like last year due to big reduction in the foiler yardstick. Another reduction must be expected for next year.
Saturday was in a 15-20 maybe souterly with rain, Sunday 10-12, and monday 5-10. All except the last race had foilable conditions.

Anybody found the photo's or results they said would end up on the website? I had a look yesterday but did not have any luck.
