I have noted in number of places (e.g. YV Advisory notes to the YA Special Regulations 2009-2012 and YQ special regs for off-the-beach dinghies) that YA will not allow Type 3 PFDs after July 2011.

Does this mean that I might still get away with a Type 3 at club events, but will require a Type 2 for bigger regattas?

Type 3 still Ok till Jul 2011, except in Victoria where state rules require type 1 or 2.
